Los Alamos National Laboratory blog.

Please add this site to your local politics blogsite section.

Thanks from the Kaolin Kronicle for posting our link. We'll keep it up. You do the same.

www.palmettoscoop.com/

www.fitsnews.com/

www.shotpolitics.com/

www.schotline.com

Are all very good political sites that include blogging venues for local, state and national affairs.

My family and i have been looking and looking for a place to relocate to where we can buy a home with a little bit of property for my horse and not owe a mortgage. we thought we had found a little bit of heaven in aiken - the natural beauty, lots of horses, an excellent hospital, a university etc until i came upon information about the savannah river site! oops! how do you folks living there feel about the situation? especially since aiken is in a relatively active earthquate zone. b.

Here are two blogs run by professional athletes who call Aiken home:

http://www.brianquackenbush.com/category/news/ (Nationwide Tour golfer)

http://www.shawnaharding.com/category/news/ (International-level Dressage rider and trainer)

not a blog yet but we will start running polls and comments in the future.

This is my web page.

Please add my site. The description follows:

Welcome to the pre-eminent blog for suburban sistas interested in literature, politics, art, music and other cultural pursuits. My blog will feature book reviews by prominent and rising African-American authors, as well as excerpts of my own soon-to-be-published works. Occasionally, you may find anecdotes and advice on parenting African-American children in suburbia, especially when my own are providing me with excessive entertainment/challenges.

I've lived and worked in the Aiken Area for over 20 years (raised two kids here). During that time period we've experienced two extremely minor earth tremors... no earth quakes. One was barely noticeable, the other went unnoticed by everyone. There is a minor geological fault here, not a major one like in California. Aiken has to be one of the top 10 locations to live in (in the U.S.). Even DOE's Savannah River Site has an exemplary 50+ year safety record - truly extraordinary. We feel VERY safe here.

I was sent this blog and it is a great site for news around Aiken.

There is a new and exciting highway safety program in South Carolina. Five Star Commitment, Inc. a non-profit whose mission is to reduce accidents among teenagers and all motorist. We have a unique concept to do this. Please go to our website at www.fivestarcommitment.com and check out the driving tips and video. We need the help of all high school students and school officials.
If your school has a driving problem then contact us ASAP. Thanks, Curt Williams/President Contact information is on the site. thanks

Actions speak louder than words. Do you think the many thousands of intelligent, highly educated employees of SRS who've come to Aiken from all over the world, brought their families and eventually retired here would have done so if they thought they were in some sort of danger? And,having worked there for years, they're the ones who'd know better than anyone else!

Please add my new blogsite www.aikenjournal.blogspot.com to your list of blogs. Your comments on the Aiken Journal.com are out of date but the website will be closed shortly.

Thank you,

Dick Smith

While pretending to explain all of that "fairy tail" stuff, Bill Clinton made a racially divisive statement that probably resounded in the ears of some people, as a call to protect "their own." He said that for African Americans, a vote for Barack Obama is "a source of enormous pride . . ." Signaling that an African American vote for Barack is a vote for racial pride. Inferentially, if African Americans are voting racially, white Americans should do the same . . .

This blog isn't about politics, but it is very informative about a very serious issue. Aiken County has a serious drug problem and more needs to be done to stop these drug dealers. I hope someone will find the blog useful in one way or another. There is much information about recognizing drug and drug paraphernalia. I was inspired to do this blog because I had a friend that was an addict and was unable to find the proper help for him in our community. Aiken needs to look at these issues and come up with more sources to help people with addiction.

The link for the blog about drugs is http://livedrugfree.blogspot.com- I didn't realize it wasn't posted with the article. I thought that was the purpose for being asked the URL.
